Coprophagia is a real disorder that involves eating feces. In reality, feces are a good source of Vitamin B12. Gorrillas, dogs, hamsters, flies, and some moth and butterfly species (such as the common blue butterfly) do this regularly. Scavengers do this a lot. In the medical world, sometimes someone with Costridium defeccile will eat feces to repopulate gut flora.
